Thom opens a Red Green Gift Set and gives you the full rundown of what's inside.
The Quick Starter Gift Set (commonly known as the Red Green Gift Set), was a deck kit exclusively for Japan and consists of a Red Deck and Green Deck first released in December 1998. The name derives from the first Japanese Pokemon game - Pokemon Red and Green. While many of the artworks mirror what you would find in other sets, they differ in two major ways: they are printed on a matte finish card stock (versus the standard glossy) and they do not have rarity symbols. You will also find exclusive holos - Scyther, Moltres, Zapdos, Articuno, and Master Ball.

The set was created with the intention of providing all the equipment and instructions one would need to learn how to battle including a rulebook, playmat, damage counters, poison status, and coins. Also included is a copy of Easily Understand How to Play Pokemon Cards: Latest Edition which included 2 promotional cards: Diglett and Dugtrio. If you check out eBay for either raw or graded cards from this set, you will notice that these fetch a pretty high price even for the non-holos. These cards are only available in the gift set and are definitely something worth collecting. And if you are on the hunt for the gift set itself either sealed or open, expect to pay several thousand dollars if you're able to find any available. Any part of the Red Green Gift Set makes a very nice addition to your collection especially if you're into rare and hard-to-find items.
